Myocardial scintigraphy
In our nuclear medicine practice in Heinsberg we offer myocardial scintigraphy. To detect or rule out coronary artery disease, so-called myocardial scintigraphy (i.e. cardiac muscle scintigraphy) allows conclusions to be drawn about the blood flow to the heart muscle.
Before the examination, medications from the following drug groups should be stopped (after consultation with the referring doctor): beta-blockers, calcium antagonists and long-acting nitrates (and if possible, do not take short-acting nitrates immediately before the examination).
On the day of the examination, please do not consume any drinks containing caffeine or tea (coffee, tea, cola) or chocolate.
Come in comfortable clothing and take a packed lunch with fatty cheese and butter with you.
The examination takes about 6 hours for a 1-day protocol, and about 3 hours on each of 2 consecutive days for a 2-day protocol.
